Combined Fellowship Partner Programs

Nephrology/Critical Care

Our combined Nephrology/Critical Care program highlights the importance of renal disease in both non-critically ill as well as critically ill patients. Critical care nephrologists' expertise in renal disease is a huge benefit for our critically ill patients, as the prevalence of renal disease is high in patients in the ICU. Our area sees a high prevalence of renal disease, including vasculitis, and WVU is a quaternary referral center, making it the perfect home for a combined program. Our hospital also performs renal transplantation, allowing for exposure to the post-transplant patient. The fellows complete a two-year fellowship in nephrology followed by a one-year critical care fellowship. We offer one spot per year. The fellows will rotate within the ICU during their nephrology fellowship and participate in research between the two departments.

Please see the nephrology fellowship website or contact Anthony Parravani for more information regarding the Nephrology fellowship and how to apply.
