Advanced Cardiac Imaging
The Cardiology Section utilizes several imaging modalities that candidates are able to gain experience and expertise, including advanced echocardiography, nuclear cardiology (PET), structural heart imaging, cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.
Cardiovascular Disease
The Cardiology Section offers comprehensive evaluation, consultation, and management of diseases of the heart and circulatory system.
Interventional Cardiology
The Cardiology Section offers cardiac interventional procedures and a high level of technical skill in performing them.
Critical Care
The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section evaluates and manages disorders of the respiratory system and cares for critically ill adult patients. Active inpatient and outpatient services are maintained.
Gastroenterology
The Gastroenterology Section provides diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas.
Advanced Endoscopy
The Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship provides experience with a variety of endoscopic procedures in a one-year program dedicated to training one motivated individual per year at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Advanced Endoscopy Research
The Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology offers a one-year research fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy to one candidate who wishes to pursue an academic career in Gastroenterology or improve their academic credentials prior to additional fellowship.

Endocrinology
The Endocrinology Section offers both in- and out-patient evaluation of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases
The Medical Weight Management program's helps individuals and families improve health, lose weight, and make permanent lifestyle changes using a scientific approach.
Hematology/Oncology
The Hematology and Oncology Section specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of all malignant disorders (cancer) and diseases of the blood, including anemia, leukemia, and bleeding problems.
Infectious Diseases
The Infectious Diseases Section provides services consultation in infectious diseases for both inpatients and outpatients.
Interventional Cardiology
The purpose of the interventional cardiology training program is to prepare its trainees to function at a high level of clinical performance in interventional cardiology.

Nephrology
The Nephrology Section prepares its fellows to provide service to patients who are dealing with hypertension, kidney disease, and electrolyte disorders.
Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases
The Nutrition and Metabolic Disease Fellowship provides the majority of its training through direct clinical care provided in WVU Medicine’s Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Center’s Medical Weight Management clinic.
Rheumatology
The Rheumatology Section evaluates and treats people with joint and muscle pain, and more specifically, those with autoimmune diseases or musculoskeletal disorders.
Sleep Medicine
The Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Section offers a fellowship in sleep medicine where trainees are trained at the West Virginia Sleep Evaluation Center that houses the state’s largest sleep lab.
