What initially sparked your interest in immunology and medical microbiology?
I initially became interested in IMMB because of its unique blend of clinical medicine in the classroom and hands-on lab experiences.
Why did you choose to attend WVU and pursue your program here?
Growing up in West Virginia, I always hoped to attend WVU. When I discovered the IMMB program, I knew it was the perfect fit for my interests and career goals.
Looking back, how did your time at WVU prepare you for the next step in your career?
While at WVU, I have been able to take part in a variety of experiences, from unique research opportunities to clinical shadowing and volunteering. Each has given me different perspectives and practical knowledge I can use when I move on to my career in medicine.
What is one skill or lesson you gained during your time at WVU that you will carry with you?
I think the most valuable skill I’ve learned at WVU is the ability to think critically in a research setting and analyze scientific data.

What accomplishment are you most proud of from your time at WVU, and why?
I am most proud of my acceptance to medical school at WVU. It represents years of hard work and dedication.
How do you hope to make an impact in your career or community moving forward?
I hope that by attending medical school at WVU, I can give back to the state I’ve lived in my entire life by serving and educating the people of WV.
What advice would you give to incoming or future WVU students?
Take advantage of as many of the great opportunities WVU offers as possible.
What is your favorite memory from your time at WVU?
My favorite memory from my time at WVU is watching WVU beat Pitt in the Backyard Brawl.
