Alumni Association

The Annual School of Medicine John W. Traubert White Coat Ceremony is one of many programs sponsored by the Alumni Association.

The WVU School of Medicine Alumni Association is dedicated to sustaining the School's reputation for excellence in teaching, research and service. It provides programs to keep alumni informed about the School's progress and to preserve strong ties between alumni, faculty and students.

Organized in 1952, the Association works interdependently with the School of Medicine to provide opportunities for alumni to keep in touch. It is governed by a nine-member Executive Council and standing committees, with program and administrative support from the Office of Alumni Affairs. Our consistent membership rate of 50%+/-, ranks the Association among the top professional school alumni groups in the nation.

Membership is extended to MD and PhD graduates of the School of Medicine, WVU Faculty, West Virginia physicians, former WVU house officers and companions in the following categories:

  • Annual Member
  • Life Member
  • Resident Member
  • Associate Member
  • Companion Member
  • Honorary Member

An active, vigorous Alumni Association reflects the affection and concern the School has for its alumni. Its members identify with and return that commitment.
