Moving to Morgantown

Welcome to West Virginia University! Below are links to information that you will find useful while you make your move to Morgantown.

Realty information

WVU's Campus and Community Life has basic off-campus living information here, including a publications guide with Morgantown landlord and apartment listings, Morgantown insurance agencies that offer renter's insurance and Morgantown area mobile and manufactured home parks and sales. 

Utility providers

A basic listing of internet, television, electric, gas, garbage and water providers available in Morgantown can be found here. Additional information for public service districts that serve outside of city limits include the Decker's Creek PSD and Clinton Water Association.  

School and child care information

WVU has basic information through Student Family Resources, including a listing of licensed child care centers, Pre-K and Head Start programs and local events and programs. The WVU Medicine Physician Family Network has a variety of information as well through their Kids' Guide that has more targeted information about parents groups, parks, pools, activities and kid-friendly restaurants.

Recreation

Morgantown boasts tons of recreation, from the refined Mylan Park with athletic fields and an aquatic center, to the more wild nearby state parks, including the popular Cooper's Rock State Forest. Monongalia County's Board of Parks and Recreation has information about city parks, and Morgantown boasts a popular rail-to-trail system with numerous entry points. 

Morgantown also has a minor-league baseball team, the West Virginia Black Bears, and multiple opportunities to travel to North Central West Virginia's fairs and festivals

The University also has the DIY Outdoors site that lets you browse by activity, including camping, caving, backpacking, skiing, swimming holes and more.
