Students pursuing an MD may take a step-out year to complete the accelerated MBA (39 credit hours with 9 hours transferred from the medical courses). Beginning in June and lasting through May of the following year, students take courses in Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Business Ethics, International Business, Corporate Finance, Marketing, Management, and take a 10-14 day required trip to China or Germany.

If students do not possess undergraduate course work in accounting, microeconomics, and statistics, it can be met via online software prior to the start of the program.
