LOCATION: Berkeley Medical Center, Jefferson Medical Center

Objectives

To familiarize the 4th year medical student with the various imaging and therapeutic procedures that are performed by the radiologist. Besides learning about the strengths and limitations of different imaging studies, the student should attempt to relate abnormal radiologic findings to pathophysiology with logic and confidence, which will lead the practitioner to a more efficient imaging work-up of the patient.

Methods to Achieve Objectives

The student will participate with the Radiologist in interpretation of various radiographs, and will observe fluoroscopic procedures. There will be exposure to Nuclear Medicine, ultrasound, CT, and MRI.

Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria

Clinical evaluation by attending, attendance and participation in all assigned patient care activities and completion of assigned readings.
