Student Computer Program

All students in the DPT program must participate in the WVU Health Sciences Center Student Computer Program. This program provides students with a powerful personal notebook computer, software, and on-site computer support.

With this program, students will also receive warranty coverage, insurance and damage coverage, access to free training, and on-campus printing. The fee to students in the physical therapy program varies depending on computer hardware, accessories, and software. The cost for students entering the program is approximately $2,000; the cost for the class entering in 2023 will be announced early in the year. The lease fee is included in the tuition and fees invoice for the fall semester of the first year.

All notebook computers will remain the property of West Virginia University Health Sciences Center until the end of the three-year contract period. At that time, ownership of the computer and accessories distributed with the notebook will be transferred to the student. Software and software documentation will be transferred to the student as permitted by the software license agreements.

This cost is a recognized educational requirement and is included in financial aid calculations. The WVU Health Sciences Center Student Computer Program fee must be paid separately from the standard tuition and fees paid to WVU. Please consider this required student computer program in your decisions regarding purchase of a computer as a pre-professional student.

Students who may need financial aid should contact the WVU Financial Aid Office.
