Global Health Week

October 14 - 18 is Global Health Week 2019. Faculty, residents, fellows, students, staff and the Morgantown community are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP before Friday, October 7, 2018 to Jacque Visyak at jvisyak@hsc.wvu.edu.

Jessica Evert, MD

Dr. Evert is the Executive Directory for Child Family Health International.  Her lecture entitled "What Works in Global Health: Addressing and Eliminating Health Disparities" will be given on Monday, October 14 from 12:00 - 12:50 in room 1909 of the Learning Center at the Health Sciences Center.

Jon P. Wietholter, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Wietholter is a Clinical Association Professor at the WVU School of Pharmacy.  His lecture entitled "Global Perspectives: Bringing Clinical Pharmacy to Underserved Populations" will be given on Tuesday, October 15 from 12:00 - 12:50 in room 1909 of the Learning Center at the Health Sciences Center.

Rey Carvajal, MD, Ryan Farnsworth, DO, Benjamin Hackett, MD, and Claire Schretlen, MD

Dr. Carvajal, Dr. Farnsworth, Dr. Hackett, and Dr. Schretlen are Global Health Track Residents in Internal Medical at the WVU School of Medicine.  Their lecture entitled "WVU IM Global Health Track Perspectives" will be given on Wednesday, October 16 from 12:00 - 12:50 in room 1909 of the Learning Center at the Health Sciences Center.

Erik Gompers and Adam Secret

Erik Gompers and Adam Secret, students from the WVU School of Dentistry, will present their lecture entitled "Guatemala Dental Student Trip 2019" on Thursday, October 17 from 12:00 - 12:50 in room 1901 of the Learning Center at the Health Sciences Center.

Helen Melnick

Ranjita Misra, PhD

Dr. Misra is a Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the WVU School of Public Health.  Her lecture entitled "Primary and Secondary Prevention of Diabetes in Rural and Underserved Areas" will be given on Friday, October 18 from 12:00 - 12:50 in room 1909 of the Learning Center at the Health Sciences Center.
