Practice Management

As a PGY3, you will participate in a one-block practice management rotation.  The purpose of this rotation is to provide you with an understanding of the complexities of a “real life” family medicine practice.  The rotation curriculum prepares residents not only to improve and manage their individual practices, but also to gain a broader understanding of the healthcare system as a whole and how it applies to their own careers and practices.  During the rotation, you will have individualized sessions scheduled with practice management experts including healthcare quality experts, billing and coding specialists, members of the healthcare organization’s legal team, and family medicine clinical operations directors and managers.  The rotation also provides a base from which you can step into leadership roles in your practice, your community, the healthcare system, and the profession of medicine.
