Welcome!

This is your first step to becoming a fellow in the West Virginia University Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.

Our program participates in the NRMP Match. Applications will be accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). In order to be considered for an interview, a completed application must be submitted via ERAS before October 15th. Our program participates exclusively in the NRMP to select one Hospice and Palliative Medicine candidate.

A completed application must include:

ERAS Application Form
Medical School Transcript
Board Scores
Personal Statement
MSPE
Letters of Recommendation (minimum of 3 letters)

There will be one available position.

Our institution sponsors J-1 visas only. We do not sponsor H-1b visas.

2026 Fellowship Application Process Timeline:

July 2, 2025: Applicants may begin submitting applications to programs
July 16, 2025: Fellowship programs may begin reviewing applications
August 27, 2025: Match Registration Opens
October 1, 2025: Ranking Opens
October 29, 2025: Quota Change Deadline
November 19, 2025: Rank Order List Certification Deadline
December 3, 2025: Match Day
July 1, 2026: Training Begins
