Objectives

To expose the student to the way in which hospitals are funded and implications of physician decisions upon the finances of hospitals and patients and an understanding of human resources in health care.

Methods to Achieve Objectives

General orientation by Medical Center executives. Specific orientation by members of finance department. Structured visits with Budget Officer, Business Manager, Accounts Receivable billing clerks and social workers.

Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria

Available in the department.
