Trauma Surgery Subinternship

STATUS: This rotation fulfills the senior year requirement for an Inpatient Subinternship

Objectives

An intensive clinical exposure to the management of the trauma patient and other surgical emergencies.

Methods to Achieve Objectives

The subintern will share patient care responsibilities with the resident staff and will be supervised by the faculty. Participation in acute trauma evaluation and management in the ED. Participation in OR procedures. Participation in the care of the trauma patient in the ICU.
