Pediatric Residency Rural Scholars Program
The Pediatric Residency Rural Scholars Program was established in 2016 with the goal of increasing the number of practicing pediatricians in rural underserved areas.
We are pleased to announce our 2026 Rural Health Scholar Interns:

Who is eligible?
Students of the WVU School of Medicine in MS-3 in good academic and professional standing committed to match in the WVU Pediatrics Residency Program in Morgantown and intending to practice pediatrics in WV or other rural areas.
What are the benefits?

$10,000 stipend to apply to MS4 tuition

Enhanced rural health curriculum in MS4 and throughout residency

Guaranteed position in the WVU Pediatrics Residency Program in Morgantown, pending successful completion of medical school
