Harriet Tubman Visiting Professor Lectureship

Each February the Department will host educational programs that focus on health issues that affect populations isolated by race, culture, poverty, gender, and sexual and social identity. The commitment of the School and Department to diversity is a legacy of the university’s foundation as a land grant institution, supported by the people of the state to train its next generation of health professionals. The faculty, graduate trainees, and students represent the many facets of the state’s population, economics, and history. Diversity programs and policies aim to create a vigorous community of all races that is gender-balanced and reflects the unique social, economical, and rural character of the state.
