Nephrology Track

Nephrology Track

New for 2023! We’re excited to announce that our program is adding the Nephrology Track. The track is designed for senior residents who are interested in the field of Nephrology and may plan to continue their medical education after residency in this subspecialty.

Rising interns and current PGY-2 residents can apply during the second half of the academic year and if accepted, will begin the track the following July. Acceptance for this track is contingent upon rising interns and PGY-2 residents who are in good standing and all program requirements are up to date.

Below is a summary of the planned Track.

Track Timeline

PGY-2

  • Attend nephrology conference weekly during elective rotations
  • A half-day of nephrology continuity clinic during the same clinic block and with the same faculty member while on elective rotations (typically five months during academic year). This would replace a half day of personal continuity clinic.

  • One month of Nephrology ambulatory (faculty clinics, other ambulatory experiences)
  • Nephrology related QI/Research projects
  • Attend the National Kidney Conference
