Adventure Camp

CVRP students go whitewater rafting during Adventure CampCVRP's Adventure camp provides the opportunity for transitioning teens who have a vision impairment or blindness to learn new skills, while also applying old skills in an enriching environment focusing on self-care skills. This IOL also offers countless opportunities that will help them to grow their independence in everyday living and social situations as well as planning and prep for career skills.

Students, from across West Virginia, come together in Fayetteville, WV. O&M Specialists and TVIs work with the students on independent living and other skills needed to be independent adults while facilitating social interactions where the students can also learn from one another. The students will explore the different career opportunities and explore some of the steps they may need to obtain one of these career options. The skills addressed at this camp reflect goals that the students are working towards as part of their Individualized Education Plans. While in Fayetteville, the students also get to participate in some of the most exciting activities WV has to offer: whitewater rafting, ziplining, hiking and other outdoor activities available in the area.
