Objectives
Experience in clinical pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders, and pulmonary laboratory testing. Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic respiratory problems.
Methods to Achieve Objectives
History and physical examination of patients seen in the emergency room or in consultation as well as those seen as elective admissions or in the Intensive Care Unit. Learning the management of patients requiring ventilatory support. Interpretation of pulmonary function tests as well as exercise tests to evaluate pulmonary disability. Learning to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. Attendance at medical, surgical, pulmonary conferences.
Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria
Available in the department.
Pre-Rotation Instructions
Student will report to the CPICU unit 5th Floor at Memorial at 8:00 AM.
Visiting Students will attend Orientation the first day, please reach out to the 4th year Coordinator one week prior to arrival.
