EDUCATIONAL ALLOWANCES

Otolaryngology residents at West Virginia University have numerous opportunities to attend educational meetings and conferences.  Funds are provided for expenses related to attendance of education related events.  A discretionary fund of $1,400 for PG5 residents, $1,300 for PG4 residents, $1,200 for PG3 residents, $800 for PG2 residents, and $500 for PG1 residents, is set up for use by residents to attend conferences and workshops of their choice each year.  In addition, the department funds travel and housing expenses for any resident attendance to conferences where presentations have been accepted. 

Also funded by the department for residents are: Annual In-Service Training Exam, USMLE Step 3 Exam, and WV Medical License Fees,
