Alumni

Pamela Hilvers Griffiths – Dr. Griffiths initially joined academic practice at Baylor University Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She relocated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital to join their neuro-NICU team.

Stephanie Grayson – Dr. Grayson is the mother of three and now practices at CHOP Newborn Care at Atlanticare in New Jersey.

Sharmilarani Nanda – Dr. Nanda is a former general pediatrician at WVU, who returned to training in Neonatology. She continues in academic practice through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at UPMC-Hamot in Erie, PA. 

Ashlee Smith – Dr. Smith is a West Virginia native who joined Mercy Medical Center in Northern California. She is the Medical Director of Neonatal Transport, and is an avid world traveler.

Cody Smith –  Dr. Smith is now an academic faculty member and Associate Program Director for the fellowship.  His research interest is Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.  

Anuj Malik – Dr. Malik joined a group practice in nearby Johnstown, PA. His wife, Nasreen, practices Internal Medicine in the same area.  They enjoy spending time with their children.

Rikizam Joya – Dr. Joya joined the Porter Health System in Valparaiso, Indiana.  He and his wife Lilly are the parents of twins.

Matt Akers – Dr. Akers is now an academic faculty member in the WVU Neonatology group.  He has an interest in simulation education, and he is developing basic and translational research in Neonatal immune system function.
