PEDS Grand Rounds is broadcast from Morgantown every Wednesday 8-9 am. The first Wednesday is at the board room on the 8th floor of BMC.  Remaining sessions held at the ED conference room in ED of BMC.  If you are on a Pediatrics Week, please plan to attend.

Volunteer Speaking Opportunity – Prostate Cancer Support Group is looking for students to speak on various prostate cancer topics for 15-20 minutes, with a potential Q&A session.  Meetings held 6:30-8:30pm on second Thursday of each month, 2nd floor of Dorothy McCormack Building.  Contact Dr. Paul Kradel, 304-267-2520, if interested. 

Stepping Stones/Good Samaritan Free Clinic – Volunteers needed every Wednesday at 5pm and first Tuesday of each month at 5pm.  New location: 601 S. Raleigh Street, Martinsburg.  To volunteer or for additional information: MS3 Ayita Verna (agverna@mix.wvu.edu). 

Fun Volunteer Opportunity – Jefferson County Community Ministries Food Pantry, 238 W. Washington Street, Charles Town.  3rd Saturday of each month, beginning at 10am.  Volunteers will work with Dr. Maddie Humerick, Chef Scott, and others to assist the food pantry patrons to improve their nutrition status with monthly cooking demonstrations. Nau Module:  Please make sure that you schedule your IM observed H&P during your last weekly rotation of Medicine.  This is required for your clerkship grade.  Do not wait until the last minute.  Please bring your completed observed H&P form to Jane. 

Eastern Class Officer elections will be held this week!!  All nominations have been received, and a slate of officers will be posted to SOLE for students to vote on candidates.  Please watch for emails with additional information. 

“Clinician of the Year” nominations: In the next 2 weeks, you will be asked to nominate a faculty member for this award.  Please give some thought to any teaching faculty that has gone out of their way to mentor you on your journey to becoming a physician.  Once a list of nominees has been developed, the class will vote.  Watch for emails with additional information. 

Computer Check:  Fri., May 25th, 1-5pm, during Friday Education sessions.  Please bring your laptops to the IT department in Eastern HSC between lectures to be prepped for final exams.
