Neonatal Subinternship
LOCATION: Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, West Virginia

STATUS: This rotation fulfills the senior year requirement for Critical Care.
Objectives
- To be able to identify the high-risk neonate and become effective in delivery room management of such a patient.
- To better understand the pathophysiology involved in disease process encountered in the neonate.
- To understand the basic treatment modalities used in the treatment of the ill neonate.
Methods to Achieve Objectives
These objectives will be reached by active participation in the work-up and management of the ill neonate. Participation will include daily attending rounds, attendance at all teaching conferences, and the preparation of an in-depth study and report on a topic in neonatology.

Pre-Rotation Instructions
WVU/Visiting Students – Please report at 8:00 AM to the NICU at CAMC Womens and Children’s Hospital (Visiting students must attend an Orientation before beginning rotations at CAMC; you will receive detailed Orientation information one week prior to your start date)
