Inpatient Diabetes
LOCATION: Ruby Memorial Hospital - Morgantown, West Virginia - Inpatient Hospital and Outpatient Clinic

Objectives
The goal is for students to develop a consistent understanding of the management of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal or the objective is that the students would be involved in the day to day management of inpatient diabetics. To apply understanding of the pathophysiology type of diabetes and apply pharmacological information for appropriate management of diabetics.
Methods to Achieve Objectives
- Students will attend the morning clinic to see diabetic patients.
- Students will attend rounds daily
- Students will be required to develop plans of therapy for the management of inpatient and outpatient diabetics with the goal of being able to easily translate outpatient goals to inpatient management.
Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria
Daily observation.
Criteria for a Satisfactory Grade
Daily observation.
