Objectives
To evaluate and obtain knowledge in the field of critical care.
Methods to Achieve Objectives
Guided but direct participation in all aspects of critical care. This includes the measurement of ventilatory and circulatory parameters. Ventilator use and management, insertion of hemodynamic catheters and interpretation of hemodynamic data, use of vasoactive drugs and nutrition in critically ill patients, and management of complex fluid electrolyte balance in critically ill patients. The students will be a part of the Primary Care Team covering the MICU. MICU module on SOLE also provides orientation and curriculum guidance.
Examination Procedures and Evaluation Criteria
Standard MS4 evaluation form is used.
